Terms and Conditions
How to enter Dine and Disco Text Competition

1. The competition will take place between 07.00am on 7 November 2017 through to 11:59am on 16 November 2017.
2. A question relating to BBC Radio 2’s Chris Evans’ show will be read out on air along with three possible answers that the listeners can choose from.
3. The competition is open to all residents of the UK, aged 18 or over, except BBC, BBC Group company or BBC Children in Need employees, anyone connected with the competition and their close relatives. Proof of age, identity and eligibility may be requested.
4. Entry to the competition is only by texting to the short code 88775. Text messages cost £5.00 (when you receive the bounce-back message referred below) plus your standard network message charge (based on your service provider rates). Each text message entry will result in a donation to BBC Children in Need of between £2.69 and £3.66 (depending on your mobile network operator). Please Note: you may enter as many times as you wish, up to a maximum of 6 entries in any 24 hour period per mobile phone number. For each entry, the donation will go through and all correct entries will go into the automatic random selection but there is a maximum of one prize per mobile phone number.
5. To answer the question, you will need to text the keyword “DISCO” followed by the option (a, b, or c) for the answer you select. Please make sure you key-in the short code and spell the keyword and the letter for your selected answer correctly.
6. If your keyword and short code are valid, and your text message is received within the specified times, you will be charged your standard network message charge and £5.00 via a bounce-back message. It may take some time for you to receive the bounce-back message. Please wait until you receive it.
7. If your keyword or short code are invalid, or your text message is received outside the specified times and dates, you may not receive a bounce-back but may still be charged your standard network message charge. You will not be charged the £5.00 entry fee and you will not be donating to BBC Children in Need.
8. There is one prize to be won. The winner will be the first eligible entry, randomly selected; who is available by phone after the competition has closed (the BBC will attempt to contact the winner between 5-7pm on 16 November). If a winner is unable to be contacted after reasonable attempts have been made, the BBC reserves the right to offer the prize to a runner up.
9. The prize consists of one pair of tickets (you and a friend) to attend BBC Radio 2 Chris Evans hosted event in June 2018 plus one night’s accommodation (one room, in a hotel specified by the BBC/BBC Children in Need) on the night of the event. This event will be a full day with entertainment, food and drink on offer.
10. The prize is as stated. There is no cash alternative and the prize cannot be sold or transferred in any circumstances.
11. Travel to the event and any other cost will be solely at the entrant’s expense and the BBC and BBC Children in Need will not reimburse the winners for any such costs. For the avoidance of doubt no other costs or expenses will be covered by the BBC or BBC Children in Need.
12. If the winner and/or their guest have any accessibility requirements, these need to be disclosed to the BBC prior to prize fulfilment. In order to fully experience the prize, there may be some Health & Safety requirements imposed by the BBC. These will need to be followed prior to those elements being experienced. The winner and their guest must also comply with the health, safety and security policies at the venue.
13. BBC Children in Need’s decision as to the winners is final. No correspondence relating to the competition will be entered into.
14. Entrants must agree to take part in any post-competition publicity if required.
15. The BBC and/or BBC Children in Need reserve the right to disqualify any entries that breach these rules or are in any way fraudulent. The BBC and/or BBC Children in Need also reserves the right to cancel a competition at any stage, if deemed necessary in its opinion, or if circumstances arise outside its control.
16. The BBC, BBC Children in Need, their sub-contractors, subsidiaries and/or agencies cannot accept any responsibility whatsoever for any technical failure or malfunction or any other problem with any telephone network or line, system, server, provider or otherwise which may result in any entry being lost or not properly registered or recorded.
17. By entering, you agree that BBC Children in Need and the BBC may publicise your name and location if you are the winner. Your information will be collected by Fonix Mobile Limited on behalf of BBC Children in Need and will only be used to in order to run and fulfil this competition, to help analyse our income and to publicise the winner and it may be shared with the BBC for these purposes. 21. This competition is operated by BBC Children in Need with additional broadcast promotion by the BBC. The applicable law is that of England and Wales.
