The chance to hear each of the Ten Pieces in full – every weekday afternoon from 2.00pm.

Highlights include the BBC Philharmonic with Beethoven’s 5th Symphony, the Ulster Orchestra with Grieg’s Peer Gynt Suite No.1, the BBC National Orchestra of Wales with Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite and the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra with Mussorgsky’s Night on Bare Mountain, and Holst’s Planets Suite.

Every weekday at 5.30 on In Tune – Radio 3’s drivetime programme, Suzy Klein presents a special series of daily features about each of the Ten Pieces – Ten Facts: Ten Pieces. Each short feature which is available as a free download gives parents and grandparents an entertaining and accessible guide to share with their children about each of the works.

In Tune + Blue Peter

Thursday 9 October 4.30-6.30pm

From our Salford studios, Suzy Klein and In Tune come together with CBBC's "Blue Peter" and Barney Harwood for a first ever "live" simulcast to celebrate the BBC's Ten Pieces. Suzy is joined by the BBC Philharmonic and a hundred local children from the North West - for a performance of Handel's "Zadok the Priest". Also on the programme, violinist Jennifer Pike; plus music by Beethoven, Sibelius, Nielsen and Grieg.
