Sheffield Doc/Fest, June 2014. Six emerging filmmakers have pitched for three £3,000 commissions to make a short documentary for BBC Fresh Online. Now the judges gather to critique the ideas and decide which three filmmakers will be selected to make their films. In addition to funding, the winning filmmakers will also receive mentoring from BBC producers and a day in the edit with a professional editor at BBC North in Salford to finish their film.
The four judges are BBC Three factual commissioner Elliot Reed, executive producer David DeHaney, and filmmakers Kim Longinotto and Ruhi Hamid. BBC Learning's Helen Foulkes chairs the panel.
