The Live Shows
At the end of the Knockouts, each Coach will take three acts through to the live shows. This is the final phase of the contest, the artists compete against each other until there are only four acts left, who go through to the final. Ultimately just one will be named 'The Voice UK' and will win a recording contract.
The first live show: Quarter-Finals
During the first live show, the three remaining acts from each of the four teams will perform. Each coach will then choose one of their team’s three remaining artists to be taken directly to the Semi-Final (their Fast Pass). The public will then be invited to vote for the remaining artists. The top four artists with the highest number of votes will join the Fast Pass Artists, previously selected by the coaches, in the Semi-Final. At the end of this show, each team will have at least one remaining Semi-Finalist.
Under the rules of The Voice if a contestant withdraws at quarter final stage, they will not be replaced and their team will lose a contestant.
The coaches will pick their "fast pass" from the remaining Team contestants. The contestants who do not receive the "fast pass" will be up for the public vote.
In the Voice 2016 quarter final there are now 10 artists competing. Therefore after the "fast pass" round, the remaining 6 contestants will compete for 4 remaining places in the semi-final. This will be decided by the public vote. Regardless of whose team they are in the four singers with the highest number of public votes will go through to the Voice Semi-Final 2016.
The second live show: Semi-Finals
The remaining artists from each of the four teams will perform. The vote will then be opened and viewers invited to vote. The four artists with the highest number of public votes will be announced and will represent his/her team in the Final.
The third live show: The Final
The remaining four artists will perform. The vote will be announced open after all contestants have performed. Voting will freeze (as announced during the programme) and the two acts who are bottom in the public vote will be out of the running. Then the vote will reopen and the two remaining artists will sing again. Once the vote is closed, the artist with the highest number of votes will be declared winner of The Voice UK 2016.
How you can vote on The Voice UK
Voting is by telephone or via the website.
Telephone vote
- Voters in the UK can choose either to call from their landline using the long (11-digit) number for the act/s of their choice or from their mobile phones using the shortcode (7-digit) number for the act/s of their choice. Please note that callers from the Channel Islands and Isle of Man should call from their landlines using the long (11-digit) number as the short numbers are only available from a UK mobile network and to avoid higher mobile charges.
- The numbers to vote for each act will be given out during the live show. Please note that these numbers may change from week to week so please do not store numbers in your telephone.
- Voting is opened and closed at the times specified on the programme. Please do not call before the vote opens or after the vote has closed as your vote will not be counted. Please be aware voting times may change.
- Calls to the long (11-digit) number cost 15p plus any network access charge. Calls to the long (11-digit) number will cost considerably more if made from a mobile device. Therefore, only call the long (11-digit) number, when dialling from a landline. To vote from your mobile in the UK (not including Channel Islands and Isle of Man), call the short (7-digit) number announced for your chosen act. Calls from the UK to the short (7-digit) number will cost 15p from a mobile phone. You cannot text. You should not dial the short (7-digit) number from a landline, (in some very limited cases, this may result in the call terminating on a subscriber’s number from your same telephone exchange).
Online Vote
- Viewers in the UK (including Channel Islands and Isle of Man) will also be able to vote online by accessing this page. Voting online will require to register/log in with BBC ID and will be free.
- The online vote will be open during the same period as the telephone lines.
- The results of the telephone vote and the online vote will be aggregated prior to any announcements.
- If you are watching The Voice UK on BBC iPlayer, following through a website or any other time shift or catch up service, you should not vote since the lines and online vote may have closed.

In the event of any contestant leaving the competition, the BBC will decide on contingency plans as it deems necessary and appropriate to the circumstances.
- For purpose of verifying any claim for refunds (where offered for telephone votes) or investigating possible voting irregularities, the BBC may need to request the network operator to disclose the telephone number that you are voting from.
