End Of Days: The Waco File

By Ciaran Tracey and Chris Warburton

Within months of the fatal fire at Waco, a huge report was compiled and submitted to the US Deputy Attorney General.

Its authors were three senior FBI investigators and three members of the Attorney General’s office.

In it is laid out in incredible detail everything that the American investigators claim they knew about the Waco, minute by minute as it was happening: from before the first botched raid, through the negotiations during the siege and finally through the horrific fire that claimed so many lives.

The FBI documentation and the information contained within it is huge.

It is a revealing insight into the FBIs understanding of what was going on: what they knew, and what they didn’t.

Coming just months after the blaze, it contains only initial assessments of the Davidians’ deaths, given that the process of identification would take much longer.

It also concludes with the FBI’s assessment of the how the fatal fire actually started.

For right or wrong, that remains a matter of fierce debate to this day.
