Share a Smile

This year, Red Nose Day is joining up with CBBC, CBeebies and local BBC radio to help spread a bit of happiness and kindness.

The ask is a simple one and we hope it will make you smile. We’d like you to share your funniest jokes with the BBC.

How to get involved

  1. Record a video of you telling your funniest joke – and start the video by saying your name and where you live.

  2. Upload the video to the BBC.

Your joke could be used on air across BBC radio, online, across our social media and on TV.

You can find more information on Red Nose Day and donation links to Comic Relief here and via #RedNoseDay.

Top Tips

  1. Frame in landscape. So put your camera on its side horizontal and not the more usual way you take a photo, which is in portrait.
  2. Speak clearly and make sure there is not a lot of background noise.

  3. If you can, film in front of a fun background.

  4. Once you have finished telling your joke keep looking at camera for 3 seconds.

  5. You're all done - send it over to us.

You can upload:

  • MP4 and M4V
  • Windows Media Video
  • QuickTime*
  • 3GP
  • AVI
  • MPEG
  • Flash video

*Please note we can't currently accept Quicktime ProRes files. Max file size is 1.2 GB.
