Chris Riddell's Stardust Sketches

Chris Riddell, the award-winning illustrator, author and cartoonist has done some lovely drawings of Stardust for us...

1. Chris imagines speaking to Neil Gaiman. They have worked together before...

2. Yvaine – played by Sophie Rundle – is an evening star who lived in the sky with her family. One night, she is knocked from the heavens by a necklace, thrown by the dying King of Stormhold.

3. Matthew Beard plays Tristran Thorn who travels to Faerie in search of the fallen star. He's shocked to discover that the star is actually a young woman, Yvaine.

4. Victoria Forester – played by Aisling Loftus – is the reason why Tristran travels to Faerie. He hopes that by finding the star he will win Victoria's heart.

5. The Copper Beech Tree is played by Tori Amos in our new adaptation. It's been said that Neil Gaiman originally wrote the part with her in mind.

6. Captain Alberic is the exuberant airship captain comes to Tristran and Yvaine's rescue as they try to escape the evil clutches of the witch-queen Morwanneg

Played by Paul Kaye in the drama

Morwanneg is one badass witch-queen who is after Yvaine. Called Lamia in the film. Played by Frances Barber in the Radio 4 drama.

Primus, Tertius and Septimus play the king of Stormhold's sons. Stormhold is a kingdom located in the world of Faerie. Like Tristran and Morwanneg, all three brothers are in search of Yvaine, the fallen star.
