Golden Goody stars for Team UK in the pool
Mike Goody won four gold medals as Team UK enjoyed a superb day in the pool.
The former RAF regiment gunner won the 50m freestyle, 50m backstroke, 100m freestyle and 4x50m freestyle mixed relay as Team UK completed a haul of 18 swimming golds and 43 medals in total.
That beat their mark of 38 medals at the London Aquatic Centre in the 2014 Invictus Games.
Goody, 30, also won bronze in the men's 50m breaststroke. Aside from the relay, he was competing in the ISC category.
There was a 1-2-3-4 for Team UK in the 50m backstroke race as Goody led home Luke Reeson, Nathan Jones and Fergus Hurst.
Goody, is bidding for a place at this summer's Paralympics in Rio. He won four gold medals and one silver at the inaugural Invictus Games.
Elsewhere, UK captain David Wiseman won gold in the men's 50m and 100m freestyle and silver in the men's 50m breaststroke in the open ISD category. He then rounded of the morning by winning gold with Goody, Fergus Hurst and Luke Reeson in the 4x50m freestyle mixed relay.
Overall, Team UK won 18 golds, 16 silver medals and nine bronze in the pool at the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex.
