TERMS & CONDITIONS: SUBMIT SONG
1. Contributors must provide the following details: name, e-mail address, Song Title, Songwriter(s) Name, Artist(s) Name, Contact Phone Number.
2. All entries must comply with the EBU rules set out in Rules_ESC2015_EN_FULL_FINAL(regardless of whether or not they have been reiterated below). Please pay special attention to the following requirements:
- The song must not exceed 3 minute duration.
- All vocals must be performed live.
- No more than 6 people can take part in the performance
- The song must not have been publicly released before 1st September; it should not have been performed in public or officially published on any media including but not limited to radio, TV and the Internet*.
- The song cannot be a cover or sample another artist’s work.
- The song must be original with regards to song writing and musical instrumentation.
- The singer/s must be 18 years or older.
- Composers and song writers may only submit one entry.
* In case the composition has been made available to the public, for example, but not limited to, on online video platforms, social networks or (semi-) publicly accessible databanks, you must inform us and we reserve the right to accept or disqualify your entry.
3. The BBC will only ever use personal details for the purposes of administering this event. Please see the BBC’s Privacy Policy: BBC Privacy Policy.
4. You can only send video clips by following the instructions and uploading the video to the BBC Media Shuttle Portal. Once you have sent this e mail, you will be authorised on BBC Media Shuttle and will receive an e mail allowing you to create an account and upload your video.
5. Clips must not contain defamatory, obscene, offensive, or any other unsuitable material. Please see the BBC’s editorial guidelines for further information: BBC Editorial Guidelines
6. The song must be appropriate for performing to a family audience and should not be of a political, lobbying or campaigning nature or contain any defamatory or obscene material. No obscene, indecent or in any other way offensive content will be considered.
7. Only videos posted on the BBC Media Shuttle Portal will be accepted. Videos sent through the post or as attachments in email will not be accepted.
8. All songs and video must be your original work. They must not infringe the rights of any other party. You cannot sample another artist’s work. The BBC accepts no liability if contributors ignore these rules and contributors agree to fully indemnify the BBC against any claims by any third party arising from any breach of these rules.
9. If your video features people other than you, those people should be aware they were being filmed and should have the permission of those people. If children under 16 feature, you must have the relevant parental consent.
10. To enter video clips you must be at least 18 years old.
11. Copyright in your video clip will remain with you.
12. The BBC its sub-contractors, subsidiaries and/or agencies cannot not accept any responsibility for any technical failure or any other problem with any server, internet access or system, which may result in any entry being lost or not properly registered or recorded. Proof of sending is not proof of receipt.
13. Entrants will be deemed to have accepted these rules and to agree to be bound by them when submitting their videos.
14. The BBC has the right to cancel or amend these Terms and Conditions at any stage, if deemed necessary in its opinion and, if circumstances arise outside its control.
15. This agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales.
