Radio 1's Longest Ride with Greg James

This Red Nose Day, Radio 1's Greg James is embarking on his biggest challenge yet, attempting an incredible 1000km cycle - on a tandem bike - all to raise money for Comic Relief.
From Friday 13 March, Greg will attempt to cycle from Weymouth to Edinburgh in eight days. This is his third challenge for Comic Relief - despite saying he would never do one again!
In 2016 he did his 'Gregathlon', where he took on five triathlons in five days, and 2018 saw his Pedal to the Peaks challenge, where he cycled between the Three Peaks and then climbed them. After both challenges he said "Never again."
But eight years on, he's back. Greg said on Radio 1 Breakfast: "I'm going again! It's been ten years since the first one I did, and I thought it was about time... People say never say never - and I did say never, twice."
He went on to explain: "I genuinely don't know whether I can do this, but I've been training, I've been keeping this secret for a long time, and I'm really, really up for it. And I really hope that you're all up for it as well. It will be a mad, mad eight days, but I'm doing it because it brings everyone together. The week of radio we have with everyone showing their very very best side is something I love being part of. I think it's good to push yourself - that's what I'm telling myself - and of course it raises loads of money for Comic Relief, and it makes a life-changing impact to people facing tough times in the UK and around the world."
Can he manage the hat trick? "I don't know if I can. But I'm going to give it my best shot."
