Lauren Laverne's 5 songs you should hear this week - Best Of June
By Zahra Bhaluani Team Laverne

Each day we slide our favourite new music into your eardrums and each week we pop five of these tracks onto our Just Added playlist. Just Added is the place to come to find the latest in new music that's either exclusive to us, has just appeared online or is basically just something we're really excited about. We've been busy planning all things Glastonbury, so here's the best of the month to make up for the last few weeks blog silence...
1 ) Liars – Cred Woes
Played as a world exclusive *klaxon sound* on the show, Liars release “Cred Woes”, the first track from their TFCF (Theme From Crying Fountain) album, which is set for its August 25th release via Mute. Expect a move into new musical territory that swaps the "bustling backdrops of Los Angeles, Berlin and New York" for something "more intimate and autobiographical” and peep the exceptional album artwork with frontman Angus Andrew donning a bridal gown.
2 ) Ariel Pink – Another Weekend
Returning with his first solo material since the prog-pop project, pom pom, 'Another Weekend' arrives courtesy of the fine folks at Mexican Summer, and it's a refreshing, dazed psych-pop nugget with a taste for the surreal. His voice dazzled by effects, Ariel Pink recalls the excesses of the weekend, and the long, lingering after-taste that dictates the ensuing days.
3 ) Parcels - Overnight
Special delivery – young Aussie outfit, Parcels have released “Overnight” which features the dons Daft Punk handling production and co-writing duties and comes packaged with an infectious slice of dance-funk that feels in step with 2013’s Random Access Memories. A pun-tastic first class stamp of approval from us.
4 ) Lapalux – Rotted Arp (feat. Louisahhh)
Two years since his last LP Lushmore, Essex beatmaker Lapalux is back with “Rotted Arp,” the new single, which continues the producer’s fondness for glassy synths, breathy female vocals, and lots and lots of bass. We can also expect to hear this on his new album Ruinism, which is out now via Brainfeeder.
5 ) Toro Y Moi – Girl Like You
Following a detour with jazz musician brothers Jared and Jonathan Mattson under the name Toro y Moi and the Mattson 2 earlier this year, Toro y Moi’s Chaz Bear (formerly Chaz Bundick) is back with “Girl Like You,” a soft grooving, late-night romantic cut from his new solo album, Boo Boo which is due out on July 7th via Carpark Records.
