Heroes of Troy: 2. The foolish and the brave

When Menelaus finds out that Paris and Helen have run off to Troy he doesn't hang around. He gathers the Greek leaders and they arrive in Troy to deliver an ultimatum to King Priam: return Helen immediately or it's war!

Holy moussaka! This place is immense!
The Old Soldier on Troy

The Old Soldier continues his story... Menelaus returns to find that Helen has gone to Troy with Paris. It turns out that when Menelaus married Helen her father insisted that all her other suitors should come to the aid of Menelaus should she ever elope with anyone - so Menelaus calls in those promises. Initially he turns to his brother Agamemnon, who will be in charge of the army and to whom the Soldier is now assigned. Their first job is to persuade Achilles and Odysseus to support the venture: both heroes have reasons not to get involved - Achilles because of a prophecy that he will die at Troy and Odysseus because he wishes to remain at home with his family. Then the Greeks sail to Troy and hand King Priam their ultimatum: return Helen plus compensation or Troy will be destroyed.
