Museum of the Year 2014 Finalist: Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts

Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts
A look at the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts, one of the Museum of the Year finalists.
The Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts in Norwich was one of the six contenders for the title of Museum of the Year.
The gallery is a major public space for displaying art and a centre for scholarship, housed in a building considered a masterpiece of contemporary architecture.
In 2013, the centre completed a two-year plan which included new spaces for its permanent collections, two new galleries devoted to modern art and new public facilities.
An exhibition given over to the complete history of art in East Anglia also launched and saw the Sainsbury Centre almost double its attendance figures.
