Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 May on BBC THREE
As 40,000 North Wales music fans flock to Bangor's Vaynol Estate for the UK's biggest free ticketed festival – Radio 1's Big Weekend, featuring the best in modern music across four stages, including Florence and the Machine, Rihanna, Alicia Keys, Dizzee Rascal, Pendulum and Cheryl Cole – BBC Programme Information catches up with Radio 1 DJ Reggie Yates, who presents highlights of the event for BBC Three viewers.
Which acts are you most looking forward to at the Big Weekend?
I can't wait to see Sub Focus, Vampire weekend, Tinie Tempah, Bombay Bicycle Club, Tempa T, Scorcher, Pendulum... soooo much to see.
What's your own favourite festival/concert memory?
Going to Basement Jaxx at the iTunes Festival, moshing to the prodigy at Glasto and singing along with Mos Def at Shepherds Bush... the list is tooooo long!
What's special about this year's Big Weekend venue, Bangor in Wales?
Taking the Big Weekend to Wales is so exciting, as Wales is stunning. An incredible line-up in such a small town usually means a lot of people really eager and ready to have fun!
Have you any fond memories of Wales?
I shot Doctor Who in Cardiff; whenever I go back I think of the Timelord.
Any tips for having the best possible time at a festival?
Wear things you're not precious about and enjoy the mess.
How will you balance what you're wearing between looking good on TV and worrying about the weather?!
It's a tough balance but somebody's got to do it!
