Jumoke Fashola named Religious Broadcaster of the Year

BBC London 94.9FM's Jumoke Fashola has been named Religious Broadcaster of the Year at the Andrew Cross Awards.

The Andrew Cross Awards recognise the best in local and regional religious radio and television broadcasting, video production, websites, publications and personalities.

In a fantastic tribute for Jumoke, the judges praised her vibrant personality, great interviewing skills and the sense of fun which comes across in her Sunday morning programme on BBC London 94.9 FM.

Jumoke said: "I am absolutely delighted; it's a great honour. There is an increasing interest in spirituality in the 21st century and my show recognises the importance it has in people's lives".

The Andrew Cross Awards were presented by Cameron Stout at the Churches' Media Conference on the evening of Tuesday 7 June. Other award-winners from the BBC were as follows:
