LESSON 16
Lads

Here's how you recognize a lad. He drinks beer, lots of beer - and gets drunk.
When he's drunk - he's loud.

His room smells like a brewery and he never cleans it up. He doesn't hoover and he doesn't wash up. He's carefree and he wants to have fun.

Tough, arrogant and sex-mad - he's a bloke who wants to be seen as a macho man.

But - is he?

According to sociologists, a lad is not the macho man he would like to be, but a boy who never grows up. He's a boy who's afraid to grow up.

He's afraid to face the responsibilities of a mature man. He doesn't want to face the challenges of a career or a family.

In fact, he's probably a bit of a wimp.
