Multimedia plug-ins V1: I want to make my website a bit more exciting with things like videos and music, for example. V2: Oh, so you’re going all multimedia on us now, are you? V1: Well, it’s more interesting than your website with all those pages of boring text and a few photos of your dog! A plug-in is a small computer program which adds new functions to your web browser. These programs are called plug-ins because they plug into your browser the first time you download them. They enable your browser to do things it can’t normally do, like play videos and music. There are hundreds on plug-ins and new ones are being created all the time. But it wouldn’t be practical to include them all. It’s best to keep your browser as small as possible to make it easier to install. Decide which extra features you want – and install only the plug-ins you need. V2: I’ve had a look at your new website with the videos on but they weren’t working. V1: They weren’t working? Did you download the plug-in? V2: The plug-in? V1: Yes, didn’t you see the link at the bottom of the page? V2: I didn’t get that far. Maybe you could put it at the top of the page?
