sick, ill, fit, well – and healthy Hugh: I'm quite a healthy person, you know. A ‘well’ person, as they say. No problems with my health. Some say that I am exceptionally fit, you know. Fit and well. Oh, well. I suppose I am. But last week I started feeling really ill. I had stomach pains and a temperature. I had a splitting headache. I felt sick, too. I was sick every time I had something to eat. Threw up all over my bed … Yuk! Oh, dear, I’ve never felt so ill in my life. I couldn’t go to work, I was just too ill. My GP said I had gastric flu and gave me a sick note. I was off sick for over a week. As a matter of fact, I was on sick leave until yesterday.
