Ghanaians say dem dey frustrated about di fresh power crisis (dumsor) for di kontri wey dey affect dia life and businesses.

For weeks now, many parts of di kontri dey face power cut, without announcement.

For places wia di electricity company of Ghana (ECG) dey announce bifor dem quench di light, dem no dey follow di schedule.

Students, business pipo and oda residents across di kontri say dem dey suffer well well.

"At night, pesin no fit sleep sake of di heat, sometimes, we dey wake up wit sweat all ova," Samuel Aikins, one resident for Agbogba tok BBC News Pidgin.

Odas like Oga Inusah Ahmed wey get mechanic shop for Madina say di light fit go off for two straight days.

"Since last week, I neva get light for one full day for dis shop, everiday, dem dey quench di light and nobody dey tok us wetin dey go on."

Mathew Konga be govment worker wey dey work regular eight to five shift, but every time im return home, light no dey.

"Sometimes I dey carry my clothes go di office to iron sake of we no get power for my area for days – in fact, for three straight days, I dey return home to meet blackout. Di govment gatz fix dis wahala," e tok BBC News Pidgin.

Energy minister Dr John Abdulai Jinapor say dem go allocate 500 of di fresh transformers to di Northern Electricity Distribution Company (Nedco) wey dem go spread di rest across di oda parts of di kontri.

"Dem dey fix di transformers for Accra, wey di next phase go happun for Kumasi for di Ashanti region for May, wia we go fix fresh primary networks wey go stabilise power for Kumasi" Dr Jinapor explain.

Director General for di kontris electricity distributor (ECG), Julius Kpekpena tok for one press conference say dem dey roll out Ghc 3.46bn ($313m) programme wey go fix di challenge and make di system beta.

"We dey fix di new transformers, replace those wey scata wey we dey fix electricity poles wey also scata."

Oga Kpekpena say di oda phases involve building fresh sub-transmission links, and oda feeder infrastructure to reduce pressure for di overloaded lines.
