Dem born Onyeka Onwenu for 31 January 1952 for Nigeria. She be di youngest pikin of D. K. Onwenu, wey die wen she bin dey four years old inside motor crash one week bifor im appointment as Minister for Education.

Hope Onwenu, Onyeka mama bin lose her husband at di age of 36 but she no remarry as she devote her life to raise all her pikin dem.

She start her career as broadcast journalist for Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) afta her masters degree from one America university for New York.

Afta, she join NTA for di early 1980s, she produce her own show for di television station ‘The Onyeka Onwenu Show’.

In 1984, BBC nad NTA publish documentary “Nigeria A squandering Of Riches” wia Onyeka Onwenu look into di governance in Nigeria. She interview late Chinua Achebe and oda Nigeria who shared dia opinion about di situation of di kontri.

For 1981, she start her music career and release her first album, ‘For the Love of You’.

Her popular hit songs include ‘One Love’, ‘Ekwe', 'You and I’ and ‘Bia Nulu’

She co-write di song 'Wait for me' wit anoda music veteran King Sunny Ade for 1989, (wey dey advocate for family planning programme among di youth).

In 1984, Onyeka marry her partner, dem both born two pikin, Tijani Ogunlende and Ibrahim Ogunlende. Ibrahim later change im name to Abraham.
