How police arrest medical doctor and oda suspects for alleged child trafficking

Rivers State Police Command don arrest one medical doctor, Dr Happiness Enyinnaya Iheukwumere, wey also dey as Dr. Hagi on top accuse say e allegedly traffic four children go different parts of di kontri.

E tok say further investigation bin lead to di recovery of three more children wey Dr. Hagi traffic from different locations for di kontri: dem rescue three from Benue State, wey include a one-year old, seven month old baby and children wey be 4 and 6-year old.

CP Nwonyi add say investigation reveal say one 25-year-old female suspect wey still dey at large from Benue state capital, Makurdi, na di alleged supplier of di children to di suspect and dem dey intensify effort to arrest her.

E explain say, "di intention na to help dis families wey don dey cry for years for pikin wey dem fit call dia own and to bring dem up well since dia parents fit take care of dem well. Instead wey dis pikins dem go become riff-raff to society. I put dem for families wey fit take care of dem.

Dat na di reason wey make even wen Police find out say di pikins na stolen children, we call di families and dem return back di children becos no be for any evil intention."

Di suspect add say, "I know say wetin I do no be good tin. E dey very grievous and wrong but I dey plead make goment and society have mercy on me becos I no go continue dat type of tin again. Dis na di first time I dey involved for dis kain tin."

Di suspect also admit say e know say e suppose get proper approval from goment before e embark on such business but e say sake of di fact say di process of getting di necessary approvals and documents dey take a longer time and based on di pressure wey di pipo bin dey put on am, na why e put hand for dat kain business.

"I no dey deny say I no do am and I dey ready to face whatever consequences but I dey plead wit goment to tamper justice wit mercy as I know say I do wetin dey wrong." E tok.
