As you'll know if you're a regular viewer of the BBC television series, Robin Hood, hardly a week goes by without our hero / outlaw being captured and thrown into jail. Of course, Robin and his gang always escape. But what would conditions really have been like all those years ago? ![]() The real dealMuseum bosses at Nottingham's Galleries of Justice believe the medieval caves under the building were used by the Sheriff of Nottingham in the days when Robin was wooing Marian. Tim Desmond, the Chief Executive of the Galleries, says: "This is the first time visitors will be able to see the dungeon where Robin Hood would have been imprisoned in medieval times. "We have received a lot of interest from the public, from as far away as Japan." .
