If you're a budding photographer, here is your chance to show off your skills by sending us your pictures of Nottinghamshire.

A Picture of Nottinghamshire

We're running a photo competition.

The best photographs relating to each of our eight themes and four chosen runners-up will be turned into desktop wallpaper. The 12 best photos will then be turned into a calendar for 2008. The best three photos from each category will also displayed at a public photo exhibition in Nottinghamshire.

The categories...

The eight themes are very broad. However, we're keen to stress that, if possible, photos should say 'Nottinghamshire' in some way. A picture of a duck on a pond might be a good photo but a swan walking a frozen River Trent as the mist lifts over Trent Bridge would be perfect for our weather category.
