Boxing Booth action (1982)

Ron Taylor and his boxing booth were a regular fixture at Goose Fair until 2001 when he finally hung up his boxing gloves at the tender age of 91.

For around 200 years the fairground, including Goose Fair, was a breeding ground for many upcoming boxers and Ron was instrumental in this process.

Ron Taylor had been visiting Nottingham's Goose Fair for 24 years and had been in the business for 60 years.

The boxing booth had been in Ron's family for four generations.

Sadly there was no one to inherit this piece of history.

However, with our video footage you can relive Ron in action, back in 1992, when some locals took on his team of boxers and wrestlers.
