Gathering ideas
Encourage the children to really look at the local countryside and identify the natural features; mountains, hills, rivers etc. Ask the children to think about how people have changed the landscape and how it changes through the seasons. Get the children to look, sketch, take photographs and collect stones, leaves and wild flowers and bring them back to the classroom.
