P7 pupils organise and lead an enterprise activity at school and KS2 pupils survey a much loved, but now neglected, local landmark. Local primary school children from Hardy Memorial are concerned about the state of the village's most important listed building and begin to think of ways of saving it. A primary 6 class put in place Operation Restoration to investigate the historical aspect of the castle, conduct an opinion poll of local people, survey the external structure and estimate the cost to bring it back to its former glory. |

appreciate the historical relevance of a building consider different ways of finding information prepare and conduct simple interviews through careful questioning assess the scale of local support by conducting a mini opinion poll use arithmatic skills to calculate results from the poll - use mental maths strategies to cost building repairs
