What we do - Offer talks and workshops to schools on global development issues such as HIV / AIDS, access to education, etc looking at how they affect children's rights.
- Provide various resources to help children and adults find out about children's rights, both here in the UK and in many other countries in the world.
- Actively seek to find out what children think and try to support them in playing a full part in decisions that affect them.
- Offer opportunities for children and young people to take action with us in support of children's rights everywhere.
Some useful resources: - Count Me In analyses the views and experiences of young people from minority ethnic communities in Northern Ireland.
- The Think of Me, Think of You training resource, developed by young people from minority ethnic communities in Northern Ireland, can be used to address all forms of discriminatory practices.
- Rightonline is for young people. It contains heaps of information on children's rights and how Save the Children is working to make those a reality in communities in the UK and around the world.
Examples of our work We talked to children in schools and youth groups about HIV / AIDS and how it is affecting children throughout the world. These lessons were part of the Global Movement for Children's Campaign for World AIDS Day 2004. With Amnesty International, we invited children to come to Stormont to talk to politicians and to ask what we can do to play a part in tackling this disease.
