What we do - Anti-racism and culture awareness training. We produce an information pack about Indian tradition and culture which is available to order from the Centre’s office.
- Visit schools and youth groups to explain about Indian culture and teach Indian dance.
- Interpreting, immigration and education advice.
- Offer a diverse arts and culture program which includes dancing, crafts and cooking the Indian way.
- Organise multicultural days, festivals and shows which promote Indian culture.
Examples of our work - We organised Belfast Mela 2004 in Botanic Gardens in August which was an extravaganza of colour, dance, food and crafts that all communities loved.
- We were invited to give a series of workshops in Little Flower School about henna painting and Indian crafts. Pupils were able to get involved in and then show off their new skills at home.
