Chinese Welfare Association

The Chinese Welfare Association works with people of all ages to ensure that the Chinese community is treated the same as other communities in Northern Ireland.

What we do

  • Our Community Relations Officers work to strengthen the Chinese community itself, as well as its links with other communities.
  • At the Northern Ireland Chinese Language School various Chinese dialects are taught to the children of the Chinese community.
  • We offer a professional interpreting and translation service.
  • We have published several reports on the experience of the Chinese community in NI. Many of them can be read on our website.

Examples of our work

Generation Y is the CWA’s youth group in which children from the Chinese community, other minority communities and the wider community meet and socialise.
