The Corrymeela Community

The Corrymeela Community is a widespread community of people of all Christian traditions who, individually and together, are committed to the healing of social, religious and political divisions in Northern Ireland and throughout the rest of the world.

What we do

  • Provide a safe environment where people from different communities can meet and build new relationships with each other.
  • Work in partnership with a wide range of school, youth, church, community and family groups.
  • Design programmes dealing with areas such as personal development, teambuilding and community relations.
  • Organise residentials incorporating outdoor activities and group discussions.
  • Visit schools, youth groups and similar organisations to carryout preliminary and developmental work.

Examples of our work

  • We have organised and facilitated an international youth conference on the topic of ‘youth work in contested spaces’, which was attended by delegates from all over the world.
  • We have run a programme involving 5 schools in the Cookstown/Dungannon area looking at conflict resolution. This programme involves a variety of activities and workshops and it is hoped that the participating pupils will pass on what they have learned to others in their schools.
