Short and Sweet
by Simon Mc Grath
Here comes winter’s sudden wake followed by winters soften flake Where the snow gather’s on the hills and grounds and where
The stream freeze’s, the statues of the forest are tall and bare The wind is cold but moves so still with roaring sound
Here comes winters sudden sleep followed by winters soften weep Where the morning comes and all is white and robins chirp at the sight where The mist rises , the land of peace is calm and silent The path is blocked by natures might and the clouds are pierced by sun light
Now here comes springs welcomed sun
Where the new birds lay and sing along
Where the new buds burst with colour in the tree’s
Where the land is swept with a delightful breeze
When the children are playing with the lamb’s
When the world is peaceful silent and calm.
