A Waterside man has been selected to skipper "Cork", the Irish entry in the Clipper Round the World yacht race which began on Sept 13th. He’s Richie Fearon, and he spoke to Mark Patterson.

“It’s a dream come true!” says Richie Fearon, as he looked forward to skippring the Irish entry in the Round the World Yacht Race that began on Sept 13th.Cork is one of the ten internationally-sponsored entries in the Clipper Race. It's the only event in the world where people from all walks of life step out of their comfort zones and onto a stripped down 68-foot racing yacht for the 35,000-mile race around the globe. Richie spoke to Mark Patterson earlier in the year about his hopes, and the prospect of living at sea for months on end.
