ROUND THE WORLD

Richie Fearon, the Waterside man, who’s skippering the Irish entry in the Clipper round the world yacht race, is safe and well after his boat ran aground in the Java sea. He and his crew of 7 sailors from the Republic were rescued from rocks by other competitors in the race. Mark Patterson spoke to Sir Robin Knox Johnston, who’s the chair of Clipper Ventures which runs the race, and also, the first round the world solo yachtsman.
