They contacted him during the Milk cup. Andre Mutombo (19) signed 2 years ago after the Milk cup for Portsmouth, and is now playing for Standard de Ličge, one of the biggest clubs in Belgium (Champions league). Others are playing pro for FC Brussels (2nd division) : Aurelien Coppin / Jonathan Heris / Mickael Van Ransbeek / Michael Dacet."

"Because the level of the tournament is so high, we need to come with only top players. We will come with a good team."

Watford FC structure their Academy in such a way that makes it unique within the UK. The football club works in partnership with a local school, The Harefield Academy, whereby 45 of Watford FC's players attend the school as normal mainstream students. This arrangement enables boys to train up to 3 times more than players at any other club, allows greater academic support for players, encourages players to live a more professional lifestyle and puts less strain on family life than the traditional academy set up. Desi Curry of the Northern Ireland FA has been to visit the project along with Trevor Brooking, Valencia, Scottish FA and Ajax.

A player to watch this year is Dominic Ball, who will captain the team at this year's Milk Cup. Dominic has regularly represented Northern Irelands U16 squad this season. He has been with Watford since the age of 10 and is part of our pioneering scheme at The Harefield Academy.

Watford have attended the competition for the last 3 years. In this time several of our youth team players have gone on to gain professional contracts, make first team debuts in the Championship and establish themselves as first team players at Vicarage Road. We could actually field 11 players in our first team that have played at the Milk Cup in the last 3 years.
