The Northern Ireland Milk Cup was established in 1983 and quickly progressed to become one of the most prestigious youth football tournaments in Europe. The competition is based at Coleraine, County Londonderry and several surrounding towns - Ballymoney, Limavady, Portstewart, Portrush, Castlerock, Ballymena and Broughshane.
The event, now in its 28th year, has attracted teams from 56 countries around the world including the USA, Africa, the Far East, South America, the Middle East, Australia, Russia, New Zealand and Canada.
Some of the biggest teams in the world have entered the competition down the years including Premiership giants Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea, Everton, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United as well as top European teams such as Feyenoord, FC Porto, Barcelona, Benfica, Sevilla, Bayern Munich and Dynamo Kiev.
This year there are over 50 teams competing across three age sections - U15, U17 and U19 - including famous club sides Spurs, Spartak Moscow, Chelsea and Manchester United, with national sides featuring Mexico, USA, Japan and for the first time China, as well as the Northern Ireland team.
Players who have taken part in the tournament in the past include David Beckham, Joe Cole, Damien Duff, Wayne Rooney, Steve McManaman, Peter Crouch, Ryan Giggs, Gary Neville, Craig Bellamy, James Milner, to name but a few.
BBC Sport NI has covered the event since 2005 providing live streaming on the web, video and news reports as well as screening the finals night live on BBC NI television.
In 2010 BBC NI will be at the event with TV, radio, web and red button content featuring a daily goals round up and features available on demand across the UK.
The Elite and Premier section finals will be streamed live around the world with on demand highlights of these matches available after the event, plus action from the junior final too.
