Red roses held such beauty
I got lost as I traced their vines
Enchanted as I wondered
Leaving my senses far behind
The Roses guided me inward
With every fateful step
I tried to avoid their sharp thorns
Closer to the centre I ever crept Now lost and dizzy with delight Without not a single care And there in the centre of those roses I had entered the dragon’s lair My eyes full of wonder Her Tail coiled around the vine The sound of her breathing peaceful I was hooked and lost all track of time Resting among the roses Tolerating me with her every breath She hypnotized with her stare Dangerous, she could bring me instant death I stepped closer to be beside her She knew I meant no harm I walked tentatively to touch her The skin was smooth and oh so warm I sit down resting beside her, Becoming submerged into sleep At peace with the world, Protected and contented My sleep becoming ever deep I awoke alone among the roses I wish that my dragon could stay Hopefully again I will find her I search amongst the roses each and every day |
