
The Black Bird Bookclub
The Blackbird Bookclub, in association with the Seamus Heaney Centre for Poetry and the Bookshop at Queen’s, will include a series of workshops with some of Northern Ireland’s most respected writers and will cover genres from comic fiction to memoir and social history.
Novelist Glenn Patterson, poet Ciaran Carson are just some of those who will be hosting seminars as part of a series of lectures beginning this Autumn. The series will showcase, the wealth of talent being produced within the university. We will cover a series of genres from comic fiction to memoir and social history. Guest writers will include: Malachi O’Doherty, Christopher Marsh, Ian Sansom, Raymond O’ Regan, Polly Devlin, Sinead Morrissey and Andrew Pepper.
The Blackbird Bookclub (part 1) will run for 10 weeks, starting 27th September 2010, with part 2 of the course beginning 24th January 2011.
The class meets on Mondays between 11am and 1pm in the Senate Room, Queen's University.

7th March - Guest lecture/reading with Ian Sansom.
