I supported the Agreement in 1998 and I did it for two main reasons. First of all, Northern Ireland needed a new, a new beginning because the country had consistently rejected everything that had been put on the table. The second reason was that my brother was murdered by the IRA in 1977 and I felt that I owed it to him to try and make my own contribution to a new society, where that kind of thing could not happen again.

Unfortunately I have to hold up my hands and say I was wrong. I was wrong from the point of view that what was promised in the Agreement was not delivered, and I think at this present time, is undeliverable. I have reservations about it because of the lack of trust that there is having terrorists in government, and we were promised that that wouldn't happen; having people involved in political espionage in government; and the effect that that has is, it robs people who supported the Agreement of any trust that they had in the process.

It doesn't seem to be working and in our own situation in west Tyrone, we have thirty-one people under death-threat, there were three attempted murders and two murders in the area - and that certainly has had a devastating effect on the people that I'm working with.
