I think I was at an advantage or disadvantage because I had been to Rangers matches before and knew what to expect, and I found it very difficult to understand some of the women’s fears about going to these matches. And, you know, they thought there was going to be a hooligan element there and they weren’t, they wouldn’t be safe there if things got out of control, and I knew that to be false. But they had built this up, this perception, because of television, media or you know, just family or what people had told them. And I knew that once they went, they would enjoy it, but this, this thing, this atmosphere that they were so afraid of just wasn’t going to be there.

For the research and for the funding as well, it was decided we would split into two groups, and one group would go with the Rangers, see a Rangers match, and the other group would go and see a Celtic match.

For me it would have been just an experience to go to both of them and see both sides of the coins, and I’m sure as we’ve found out through talking as a group, it’s exactly the same on both sides.
