Find out what the participants learned from the mural cross-community ventureImage of young people painting mural together

Voice 1: Hello, my name’s Nora. I’m from St Cecilia’s College in Derry, and I’m here doing a project with various other schools - it’s cross-community.

Em, we’re here meeting the artist, Gilberto, and we’re looking at different cultures like how the Asians live, their different problems - mostly to do with their world.

Voice 2: Em, it’s really good because people from different religions and different schools get together and they socialise.

Voice 3: The best thing about the project was being able to work with other people and... you’re meeting more people and working on a large scale of design of art.

Voice 4: Working along with the students from other schools has been good because there are people here from over on the Waterside and also from the city side, so it’s just kind of bringing everyone together.

Voice 5: I found the projects very interesting: I have learned a lot of new things, met new people, and I have learned a lot from it.

Voice 6: It’s been a privilege working with Gilberto and the whole squad at the Playhouse in Derry, and I’ve made a lot of new friends.

Voice 7: I go to Clondermot High School and the best thing about this project is working with other people and learning things about different people in different countries, and helping out in other countries.

Voice 8: What I have enjoyed about the project is that I was glad that it had came to Northern Ireland because, it’s just to show that we are doing something for it, and I think it’s a brilliant experience.
