Margaret Heatley

Margaret remembers back to 1966.

Margaret Heatley

"I felt like Scarlett O'Hara in Gone with the Wind, when she was dancing with Rhett Butler. "

The Story

Margaret received a fabulous new dress from America and it was perfect for the dance she was going to. Her excitement was soon dampened however when her mother disapproved.

The story continues...

At the time of writing, Katie, Margaret's mother (83), still likes to make comment and dictate the suitability of clothing! Margaret says her mother still has a dislike for low neck-lines.

Margaret wrote a poem for her mother's 80th birthday. Click here to read - 'There should be a Mother's Olympics'.

You can also listen to another of Margaret's poems - 'Love Makes The World Go Around' - click here to listen.

Comment: Margaret, great drawing of yellow dress which is very respectable and does not appear to be that low-cut! Love the dress you are wearing to your cousin's wedding. Unfortunately did not get the poem you had written for your Mum's birthday.
