It is less than two weeks since Karl Wallace joined The Castle as artistic director and he's already been busy choosing the cast of the theatre's Christmas show. Beauty & The Beast will be staged from 30th November 2007. Karl says the audiences will notice some differences with this year's festive offering: "We've got actor-musicians. Each of the actors will be playing three or four instruments," he explains. A company of young people will support the professional actors. As artistic director, Karl is responsible for directing The Castle's in-house productions. He also heads the team which books touring shows and acts. He also wants more people to know about The Castle and its work: "How can we expand our reputation and profile and work outside of Wellingborough?" In the future, look out for more partnerships between The Castle and other theatre companies. Karl explains: "We can support them with the resources we have in terms of rehearsal space, our technical team, etc. And then produce work of high quality and then be able to tour that elsewhere." last updated: 08/05/2008 at 08:29 You are in: Northamptonshire > Entertainment > Theatre > Features > The Castle looks beyond Wellingborough |
