The BBC Blast teepee

Show us ya talent on the coast

The infamous silver Blast teepee is pitching up in Great Yarmouth on Monday 29 August. We'll be looking out for local talent to showcase their skills and they'll be Blast experts on hand to help develop your creative ideas.

The Blast techno teepee will be glinting in the east coast sunlight on bank holiday Monday, shining like a beacon to attract your talent.

Complete with shiny foil-like material (don't mention that it looks like the nose cone on an early space ship) and a video camera inside, this contemporary twist on an American Indian classic is where young people can try out ideas, express themselves and get help and support in developing their creativity.

Once you've got your act down pat, there will then be the opportunity to present work to the camera in a short minute byte, which will be edited by the Blast Central team and might even be showcased in Blast on BBC TWO.

Teepee tour

The teepee has been touring the country for a while, starting its journey off in Bristol at the Blast induction day and working its way round the festivals and Blast locations around England.

On Monday 29 August, the teepee is coming to Great Yarmouth and we'll be looking for lots of local talent to come and strut their stuff.

You can recite a poem or present writing, MC, sing, dance, play an instrument, present your views and opinions, or talk about a painting or picture you've created. If it's creative, it'll be welcome at the teepee.

In addition to the filming teepee, its baby brother will be on site too where an expert can have one-to-ones with individuals or small groups about creative solutions.

There will also be some 'creative surgeries', where you will be able to brainstorm and develop ideas as a group and get some tips for common problems in developing your ideas and getting noticed.

Between the teepees will be a Pow-Wow area, a creative space where Blast staff will work with you to think up ideas to present on camera. It will also serve as a great space for dancers or MCs to practise - it might event become an impromptu performance space.

To help get your creativity all fired up, the BBC Coast experience will have an MC and some DJs with an eclectic mix of hip-hop, scratch, drum and bass, funky house and garage.

So, for your chance to get those ideas into motion, get down to the BBC Coast experience at the Sealife Centre Gardens on Marine Parade on the Monday 29 August.
