Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra played at Blickling Hall, near Aylsham, on Saturday 23 July 2005 with special guests Ruby Turner and Sam Brown. BBC Norfolk secured the broadcast rights for the concert, and for the first time web users be able to listen again afterwards. "We'll be recording the entire concert and selecting the night's best 10 songs to play back immediately afterwards on BBC Radio Norfolk at 95.1 and 104.4FM, on DAB digital radio and online at bbc.co.uk/norfolk," said acting editor Peter Cook. "I know when I've been to a gig the first thing I want to do as I'm driving away is listen to it again. We'll be giving people that chance with Jools." The exclusive deal to play back the concert follows the success of BBC Norfolk's Elton John broadcast from Norwich's Carrow Road stadium in May. Listen on demand "When we did the same with Elton John, we had requests afterwards for a CD of our programme," said Peter Cook. "Unfortunately we're not able to oblige, but the fantastic news is that people will be able to hear highlights of our Jools Holland programme for a month afterwards online." It's the first time the rhythm and blues legend has played at Blickling Hall.
