Have you got what it takes to be a Serious adventurer? Former 'Serious' winners give us the low-down Larry Larry was chosen to go on the very first Serious expedition to the Borneo jungle in 2002.
A big fan of jungle-based movies, and with a passion for outdoor pursuits - Larry knew it was the chance of a lifetime and made the most of the adventure! Promise Promise was in the Serious Desert team who trekked across Namibia in 2003.
Her positive attitude helped her through some tough times in the desert, but she says it was an amazing, life changing experience. Q1. What advice would you give to people applying for the next expedition?
Be yourself. Don't put on a fake persona. Try and be open… There's not a certain type of person they're looking for - they want a mixture… Q2. What should successful applicants be aware of before they go on the expedition?
Whatever they think it's going to be like - it's not going to be like that! It's going to be totally crazy, really fun, but very tough! Q3. Any advice about having the cameras follow you around?
In the first week the girls tried to go to bed looking really nice because they knew the cameras would be on them in the morning… but you soon forgot about trying to look good! The camera-men are always asking what you're doing and how you feel - so you get used to expressing your emotions! Find out more about Larry and Promise's experiences in our success section. |
