Fame Academy Bursaries
The Fame Academy Bursary was set up after the success of BBC's Fame Academy programme. Since then, a number of awards have been given to talented young musicians to help them pursue their careers in music.

Urban Music Bursary
The Urban Music Scheme has been running since 2005. Working with a team of talent scouts and the urban music industry, the aim is to find the best local talent and provide them with funding, training and contacts.
The shortlisted candidates, ranging from producers and PR managers to rappers and sound engineers, all attended three day workshops and are now benefitting from sponsorship and training.
In 2006, three main winners received £10,000 each, five runners-up received £7,500 and 13 finalists received £5,000.
In 2005, seven winners received £10,000 and 10 finalists received £5,000.

Education Bursary
The Fame Academy Education Bursary funds students for three years while they pursue careers in music. The winners use the funding to continue their musical education and to buy relevant instruments and equipment.
The scheme is open to players of all styles of music, aged between 16 and 30.
In 2006, a bursary of £12,500 a year for 3 years (a total of £37,500) was awarded to four young musicians who demonstrated a passion and commitment to their music. Two musicians were also given awards of £5,000 to help them commission new music.
The scheme also awarded bursaries to five young musicians in 2005 and 2004 with funding to the tune of £37,500 for three years.
