Minecraft's baby farm mobs are getting an 'adorable' update

- Published
The team behind Minecraft has shared details about an upcoming game update, and from piglets to puppies - it's all about making baby animals even cuter.
Right now, baby farm mobs in Minecraft look just like smaller versions of their grown-up selves. But soon, that's changing.
Eight different animals are getting brand-new baby designs with their own special looks and sounds. These include cows (and their mushroomy cousins, mooshrooms), pigs, sheep, chickens, rabbits, ocelots, wolves, and cats.
The new baby animals won't just look different - they'll sound different too. Piglets will have tiny oinks, wolf pups will make playful yaps, and kittens will meow.
One of the biggest changes is their eyes. Agnes Larsson, Game Director explained that, "Typically mobs in Minecraft have two-pixel eyes, but now baby mobs have just one which creates a new vibe for them, which is just adorable."

In addition to the update you'll soon be able to craft Name Tags. That means you can give your favourite animals fun names and make them truly your own.
Some players have already been testing out an early version of the update, but for users who would like to wait for the finished product to officially arrive, there's no release date just yet.
Last year the Minecraft's first major update of 2025 arrived in March, so it's possible players may need to wait until the spring.
Let's us know what you think of the new look in the comments.
