WATCH: The Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer sees Peter Parker dealing with a life where all his best friends no longer know him
The trailer opens with Peter Parker (played by Tom Holland) watching his best friends MJ (Zendaya) and Ned (Jacob Batalon), on a video posted on social media as they start university... without him.
It's clear Peter is struggling with the loneliness of being forgotten by everyone, including those he cares about most, who seem so happy without him in their lives.
In a voice over, Peter Parker narrates a heartfelt letter explaining: "Sometimes Spider-Man has to do the hard thing, even if it breaks Peter Parker's heart."

But this movie isn't just about Peter's troubles with his friends.
The trailer reveals some exciting characters, including the Punisher (Jon Bernthal), although he doesn't seem too friendly with our friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man.
There's also the return of some bad guys from previous Spider-Man movies, including Scorpion (Michael Mando), who was last seen in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
There's also some cool looking red ninjas who are likely to be 'The Hand' - an ancient criminal organisation from Marvel comics and a mysterious villain who seems to be jumping from one body to another.

Perhaps the biggest surprise is the hint that Peter's spider/human DNA is changing.
Dr Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo), also known as the Hulk, warns Peter that his powers may be mutating, making him more dangerous than ever.
Some fans are wondering if this means we'll see the infamous "Man-Spider," a mutated version of Spider-Man from the comics.
Literally a giant spider monster, that's crossed with a man. Yikes!

The trailer also shows us a few brief moments of action, including a fight with the evil ninjas, and even a tank battle with the Punisher.
With all these villains and strange happenings going on, it's clear that Peter's life is about to spun upside down... well more so than usual.

Details are yet to be revealed about a mysterious character played by Sadie Sink
There's one more mystery we haven't solved: Well known actor Sadie Sink is in the movie cast and appears in the trailer... but who her character is is still top secret.
But there are some hints that she might have superpowers of her own.
There's not too long to wait now: Spider-Man: Brand New Day is out 31 July.
