KPop Demon Hunters fans assemble! The news you've been waiting for is here - Netflix has confirmed a sequel to the most streamed movie of all time is in the works!

The announcement comes just days before the Oscars, where Kpop Demon Hunters has two nominations for best animated feature and best original song.

In a post on social media, one of the film's directors, Maggie Kang, said: "There's so much more to this world we have built and I'm excited to show you.

"This is only the beginning."

But Netflix are keeping any details about the new film under wraps and we don't have a release date yet.

In October, Kang told BBC News: "There's definitely more we can do with these characters in this world.

"And whatever it will be, it will be a story that deserves to be a sequel, and it will be something that we want to see."

In an interview with US entertainment magazine, Variety, she also said that if she were given the opportunity to make a sequel, she'd love to expand on Zoey and Mira's backstory a bit more.

In an interview with the BBC last month, the singer Ejae, who voices Rumi's singing voice and co-wrote Golden and other songs, said she hopes to incorporate some new styles in the sequel.

"It depends on what they create and hopefully, you know, we can show more sides of Korea," Ejae said. "There's so many different kinds of music in Korea, so that's what I'm hoping for personally."

Golden has gone up, up, UP to the top of the UK and US music charts

The song Golden from the movie has been watched more than one billion times on Youtube, becoming the first song from the film to hit that glittering milestone, and scooped up a Grammy along the way.

That's how its done, done, done!

Songs by the group's fictional rivals, the Saja Boys, have also done well, and they've become the highest-charting K-pop boy band in US Spotify history.

The original film follows main characters Rumi, Mira and Zoey from the K-pop group Huntr/x.

By day, they are pop stars. By night, they use their music to protect the world from dangerous demons.

So, what do you think second movie will be about?
