Two American football teams - the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots - met for Super Bowl 60 at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California in the United States. This was the final game of the NFL season, and one of the biggest sporting occasions in the world.
With millions of people watching at home and in front of nearly 71,000 fans in the stadium, the Seattle Seahawks won 29-13.
Running back Kenneth Walker III was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) after rushing for over 130 yards and scoring important points for his team.
Kicker Jason Myers made a Super Bowl record-tying five field goals - that's when the kicker kicks the ball through goalposts to score three points.

It was a historic night, too, because British coach Aden Durde played a big role with the Seahawks defence - making him the first coach from outside the United States to be part of a Super Bowl-winning coaching staff.
Head Coach Mike Macdonald said after the game: "We were the better team, we're the best team. We loved each other, we believed in each other and now we're champions."
The Super Bowl isn't just big in the US - it's watched by millions of people all over the world on TV and online every year, making it one of the most watched sporting events anywhere.

Superbowl 60: The halftime show
One of the most talked-about parts of the Super Bowl isn't the football, it's the half-time show, where famous musicians put on a concert while the players take a break.
Headline performer for 2026 was megastar, Bad Bunny.
A musician from Puerto Rico, Bad Bunny made history by becoming the first solo artist to perform the halftime show mostly in Spanish.
His performance took place a week after his latest album, Debí Tirar Más Fotos became the first Spanish-language record to win Album of the Year at the Grammys.

Dressed in a short white shirt and white trousers with drawstrings, he carried a football in his white-gloved hands onto the stage.
The show was packed with celebrity appearances. Famous artists such as Lady Gaga sang a duet with Bad Bunny and Mandalorian and Fantastic 4, actor Pedro Pascal along with rapper Cardi B were also seen enjoying the show on stage too.

Near the end of the performance, dancers carried flags from nations across North and South America, and a giant screen displayed: "The only thing more powerful than hate is love."
Some commentators talked about the political meaning around the show. Bad Bunny had previously criticised the US government's immigration policies at the Grammy Awards, and former US President Donald Trump said he didn't like the halftime performance, claiming it didn't reflect "American values." Other fans and public figures praised the focus on cultural pride and togetherness.

How many people watch the Super Bowl?
According to the NFL, the Super Bowl broadcast - including the halftime show - reaches a huge audience, with previous games averaging around 127 million viewers in the United States and is watched in over 200 countries worldwide.
Super Bowl ads

Barcelona and Spanish football superstar Lamine Yamal revieled his favourite Pokémon in one ad
Another big part of Super Bowl night is the TV adverts that play during the game. Because millions of people watch, companies pay huge amounts of money to make and show the ads.
One of the ads was from Pokémon, celebrating its 30th anniversary. In the commercial, famous people like football star (that's soccer, not American football) Lamine Yamal, and BLACKPINK's Jisoo talk about their favourite Pokémon.
Yamal's is Zygarde because he related to the "many ways [it has] to overcome his opponents."
Jisoo's is Eevee, which has the ability to evolve into many powerful forms.

Another advert, directed by Thor and Lightyear star, Taika Waititi, saw a cgi polar bear choosing between zero sugar Pepsi or Coke.

Super Bowl movie trailers
Movie studios often choose the Super Bowl as a moment to show short previews of big films before they come out in cinemas.
There was a short teaser trailer from Disney for the new Mandalorian and Grogu film showing the bond between Mando and Baby Yoda.
On an ice planet the pair are sat in a carriage being pulled along by some Tauntauns - creatures last seen in the Empire Strikes Back. The film is out in May.

Elsewhere, Universal Studios provided a short teaser for the upcoming sequel to 2023's The Super Mario Bros Movie. The 15-second trailer shows baby Mario and Luigi waking up a dinosaur, before being forced to make a desperate escape alongside popular characters Toad and Yoshi.
